Sarah K. Peterson is the founder of SPS Immigration PLLC based in Minneapolis, MN. Her employment-based practice focuses on physicians, high-tech, and academia. She actively participates in the American Immigration Lawyers Association AILA as an Elected Director on the AILA Board of Governors since 2012 and currently also serves on AILA’s USCIS HQ and Verification committees. 

Peterson has previously served as Chair of AILA’s DOL liaison committee from 2017-21, as Vice Chair from 2016-17, and as a committee member from 2015-16. She has also served on AILA’s California and Nebraska USCIS Service Centers, chaired and served as a member of AILA’s Healthcare Professionals Committee, and chaired the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of AILA. 

Peterson has been included in The Best Lawyers in America & Best Lawyer in Minnesota since 2020, The Best Law Firms since 2021, since 2020 in LawDragon 500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers and previously from 2016-2019 as one of 40 Up and Comers in Employment Law by HRE/LawDragon, is listed in the International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers since 2014 including selection since 2018 as a Thought Leader. 

The 2021 Susan B. Quarles AILA Service Excellence Awardee and four-time recipient of AILA’s Presidential Commendation, Peterson was a contributing author to AILA’s Business Immigration Law & Procedure, second edition, frequently speaks with the press, and travels internationally to speak on employment-based immigration.
