Interviewing Programs
The University of Minnesota Law School Career Center hosts both national on-campus and off-campus interviewing programs, and participates in diversity, public interest, and specialized recruiting programs across the country to give students increased access to a broad range of employers.
On-Campus Interviews Program
The University of Minnesota Law School's On-Campus Interview program (OCI) is the largest recruiting event of the year. The majority of employers who participate in our OCI program operate in the private sector and are primarily interviewing rising 2Ls for summer positions, but we welcome any legal employer to participate.
All registrations can be completed through Symplicity. All components of our 2025-2026 interview programs will be of no cost to employers.
- Early Interview Program: February 13: The early interview program can be used for either 1L or 2L 2027 Summer Associate recruiting. All interviews will be conducted virtually through Flo Recruit.
- On-Campus Interview Program: We will host an interview program in the third week of June and in early August. Exact dates TBD. All interviews will be conducted virtually over Flo Recruit.
- Resume Collects: The Career Center will work with any employer to accommodate a timeline that works best for your organization.
- Direct Submissions: To maximize visibility of your job postings, we will post any job posting on Symplicity that directs students to apply directly to your website.
The Career Center seeks to maximize flexibility with legal employers in interviewing Minnesota Law students. We can work with any legal employer to set up an interview schedule throughout the year that aligns with your recruitment schedules.
Minnesota Law's annual Meet the Market event will be held in person on November 6 from 4:00 -6:00 pm CST, hosted at the Courtyard Marriott next to the Law School. Our virtual Meet the Market event will be held on November 10 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm CST, hosted on Flo Recruit. You will be able to set up your own schedule, and students will sign up for timeslots.
Please contact Rob Borchardt, Associate Director of Employer Engagement, with any questions at [email protected] or 612-626-9467.
Off-Campus Interviews
Off-campus interview programs are offered annually in collaboration with six other law schools in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston. More information and registration at Midwest-California-Georgia Consortium Symplicity.
Resume Collections
If you are not able to conduct fall interviews on- or off-campus, we welcome you to participate through our resume collection process. Register via Symplicity (choose "submit schedule request" and "resume collect"). We will list you as a recruiting employer, notify our students about your job, collect resumes from interested students, and send those resumes directly to your hiring contact.
Diversity Fairs
Several programs bring our students together with employers who have a specific interest in hiring students from a diverse background. The programs are held in a variety of locations around the country throughout the year.
Public Interest Fairs
Students interested in pursuing public interest careers are invited to interview across the country with a variety of employers at any of the special interview programs for public interest employers.
