Information Sessions

Experiencing Minnesota Law is an important and helpful step toward learning more about the application process and student culture.  At this time, we are not accommodating walk-in visitors.

For the best experience as a prospective student, we encourage you to register in advance for a student-led information session (dates below). Prospective students can also schedule a 1:1 virtual appointment with an admissions counselor or student ambassador.

Virtual Student-Led Information Sessions

Can't visit in person? Join us for a student-led information session on Zoom from 12pm-1pm CST. Learn more about the application process, timeline, scholarships, and hear from current Minnesota Law students about their law school experiences. Registration links will be added at least one month in advance of the session and no more than two months in advance of the session.

In-Person Student-Led Information Sessions

In addition to a student-led information session, a tour of Mondale Hall will be offered.

Registration has closed for this year's session.

Special Focus Virtual Information Sessions

Minnesota Law offers a select number of special focus information sessions that are geared towards certain types of applicants who might have additional specific questions about the application process and/or student life. These sessions are open to all, but have been created with these particular applicants in mind. Please register in advance of your session using the dates linked below.

First Generation College Students

Registration has closed for this year's session.

This session is geared towards explaining the admissions process, financing considerations, common terms you will hear in law school, and more from admissions staff and current students who were also first generation college students. There will be a presentation and then Q&A time in breakout rooms. While this session is tailored towards first generation college students, it is open to all who would find its content useful in their admissions process.

Military Affiliated Applicants

Registration has closed for this year's session.

This session includes an overview of the admission process from our staff, information about student life and resources from current students who are military affiliated, as well as an overview of veteran benefits and usage from the university's veterans coordinator. There will be a presentation followed by Q&A time. This session is open to all, but has content tailored towards veterans, active duty military, and those who are utilizing GI benefits that have been transferred on to them.

Non-Traditional Applicants

Registration has closed for this year's session.

This session will feature several current students who are non-traditional law students. They will share about their background, experience in the application process, and resources the school has for non-traditional students (such as our Older Wiser Law Student Organization). A member of the admissions staff will also be a part of the session to answer application specific questions. There will be plenty of time for Q&A in breakout rooms following the overview. While this session is tailored towards non-traditional applicants, it is open to all who would find its content useful in their admissions process.
