Interviewing Programs

The University of Minnesota Law School Career Center hosts both national on-campus and off-campus interviewing programs, and participates in diversity, public interest, and specialized recruiting programs across the country to give students increased access to a broad range of employers.

On-Campus Interviews

Summer/Fall On-Campus Interviewing (OCI)

The University of Minnesota Law School's On-Campus Interview program is the largest recruiting event of the year.  The majority of employers who participate in our OCI program operate in the private sector and are primarily interviewing rising 2Ls for summer positions, but we welcome any legal employer to participate. These interviews typically happen at the end of July or early August.  The University of Minnesota Law School will continue offering On-Campus Interviewing dates into the fall semester for any other organization including smaller law firms, courts, corporations, or government agencies in support of any hiring needs.

The University of Minnesota Law School's 2024 On-Campus Interview program will begin the week of July 22 under the following format:

  • Session 1: July 22-July 24: Virtual screening interviews only.  Minnesota Law can host using FloRecruit or you can host on the platform of your choice.

  • Session 2: July 25 - July 26: Reserved for on-campus face-to-face screening interviews.

  • Session 3: July 29 - Sept 30:  We will continue to host on-campus interviews into the fall semester on either a virtual or in-person schedule.

Resume Collects: Resume collections will be offered for free for any legal employer.  After submitting a request for a resume collection, you'll hear from the Career Center about when you'd like to receive a packet of application materials.

All registrations can be completed through Symplicity

Spring Meet the Market:  A pre-OCI networking event will be held in person on April 8, 2024, from 5pm-7pm hosted at the Courtyard Marriott next to the Law School.  You do not have to be signed up for our OCI program to attend but the event is intended for employers who plan to participate in our OCI program or intend to recruit Minnesota Law students for summer 2025 Summer Associates or Law Clerks. Register for Spring Meet the Market

Please contact Rob Borchardt, Associate Director of Employer Relations, with any questions at or 612-626-9467. Registration can be completed through Symplicity when dates are announced.

Spring On-Campus Interviewing

The University of Minnesota Law School will work with any private sector employer, government agency, or public interest organization to organize either an on-campus face-to-face interview schedule or a virtual interview schedule through the Flo Recruit platform.  We are flexible with interview dates and times.  You can register for our Spring OCI program through Symplicity or to go over options, contact Rob Borchardt, Associate Director of Employer Relations at or 612-626-9467.

Off-Campus Interviews

Off-campus interview programs are offered annually in collaboration with six other law schools in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston. More information and registration at Midwest-California-Georgia Consortium Symplicity.

Resume Collections

If you are not able to conduct fall interviews on- or off-campus, we welcome you to participate through our resume collection process. Register via Symplicity (select "submit schedule request" and "resume collect"). We will list you as a recruiting employer, notify our students about your job, collect resumes from interested students, and send those resumes directly to your hiring contact.

Diversity Fairs

Several programs bring our students together with employers who have a specific interest in hiring students from a diverse background. The programs are held in a variety of locations around the country throughout the year.

Public Interest Fairs

Students interested in pursuing public interest careers are invited to interview across the country with a variety of employers at any of the special interview programs for public interest employers.
