Class of 2027

Ms. Boateng holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Management from Wisconsin International University College in Ghana. Her extensive business and leadership experience with multinational companies and her interest in capital markets and the legal frameworks that support global business activity have continued to reinforce one another throughout her career. Now based in the United States, Ms. Boateng is pursuing an LL.M. degree at Minnesota Law to deepen her understanding of U.S. business law. She plans to sit for a bar exam after graduation and practice law in the United States. She hopes to combine her legal training and business background to advise companies operating across jurisdictions. 

Mr. Almufarriji earned his law degree from Saudi Electronic University and has worked as a legal assistant with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior. He has a broad interest in business law, international law, and the role of legal institutions in supporting effective governance and public service. His academic interests motivated him to broaden his understanding of different jurisdictions and approaches to legal practice. He hopes the Business Law LL.M. at Minnesota Law will further develop his comparative legal perspective. Looking ahead, Mr. Almufarriji aims to apply his legal training in an international setting, with particular interests in human rights advocacy and the rule of law.

Mr. Baccouche recently earned a Master’s degree in Business Law (Private International and Comparative Law) at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. He is particularly interested in alternative dispute resolution and has devoted his thesis to the growing role of mediation alongside arbitration. His legal experience spans corporate transactions, taxation, insolvency proceedings, and legal drafting. Studying in the United States will allow him to build on his civil law training through closer exposure to common law reasoning and international arbitration. After completing his studies, he plans to sit for the New York Bar and eventually practice in an international law firm or arbitral institution. 

Ms. Baik holds an MBA from Korea University and is a U.S. CPA with extensive experience across finance, insurance, and business strategy consulting for global companies. She has also earned an American Law Specialist Certificate from KOABELS American Research Institute in South Korea. Her experience navigating business risk, regulatory compliance, and legal frameworks sparked a deeper interest in how law shapes business strategy and decision-making. To deepen her understanding of corporate governance and financial regulation, Ms. Baik is now pursuing a LL.M. degree at Minnesota Law. In the long term, she aspires to combine her industry experience with legal training to advise businesses on complex regulatory and cross-border matters. 

Ms. Chi is a licensed Chinese attorney with substantial experience handling complex commercial litigation and arbitration. After earning both her LL.B. and LL.M. in Civil and Commercial Law in China, she advised corporate clients on various commercial and compliance matters. Her practice has led her to view dispute resolution as a process that begins with commercial structuring, continues through litigation strategy, and ultimately depends on effective enforcement. As cross-border issues became increasingly common in her practice, she developed a growing interest in how procedural systems interact across jurisdictions. Through the LL.M. program at Minnesota Law, Ms. Chi is eager to build a more systematic comparative framework for legal strategy and dispute resolution.

Mr. Dagane studied law, political science, and conflict resolution in Kenya. Since graduation, he has gained practical legal experience as a paralegal and senior clerk in a law firm and worked in multiple community advocacy and policy advisory roles. His academic and professional experiences have shaped a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution and access to justice, especially in how formal legal systems and community-based approaches can work together effectively. Mr. Dagane hopes the LL.M. program will help him develop a more systematic understanding of dispute resolution and comparative legal systems. In the long term, his goal is to devote his career to developing practical and culturally responsive approaches to resolving disputes and expanding access to legal services. 

Mr. Dorsett brings to his legal studies more than a decade of experience with the Royal Bahamas Police Force, where he has risen to the rank of Police Sergeant and received multiple commendations for his service. Alongside his law-enforcement career, he earned both an associate degree in Law and Criminal Justice and an LL.B. with distinction from the University of The Bahamas. His firsthand experience in criminal justice and public service has led to broader academic interests in constitutional law, human rights, cybersecurity, and jurisprudence. Through the LL.M. studies, Mr. Dorsett aspires to deepen his understanding of these fields and lay the groundwork for eventually pursuing a Ph.D. in law. 

Mr. Fu’s path to law began with his training in journalism, which sparked a lasting interest in information, technology, and the legal challenges created by the digital economy. During his Juris Master studies, he focused increasingly on data governance and intellectual property, particularly through a comparative law lens. He has complemented this work with internships at law firms and the People’s Procuratorate of Yiwu, gaining experience in litigation and legal drafting. Having passed China’s bar examination, Mr. Fu is pursuing an LL.M. at Minnesota Law with a particular interest in intellectual property and technology law. He hopes that studying across legal systems will prepare him for a cross-border practice advising businesses on data privacy, intellectual property, and emerging technologies. 

Ms. Guisse is a third-year private law student at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. Her interest in legal practice began early through a law firm internship, where she observed client meetings, followed an ongoing trial, and reviewed business files. She is especially interested in business law and tax law and aims to build a career as a legal advisor in an international law firm. Her client-facing work experience has strengthened her independence, time management, and ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Through her exchange studies at Minnesota Law, she is eager to gain confidence working across cultures and prepare for a more internationally oriented legal career.

Ms. Joo brings a distinctly global perspective to her legal studies, proudly embracing her Korean heritage while having been raised in Sweden. This multicultural background enables her to approach legal questions with both Nordic insight and international awareness. Ms. Joo studied at Minnesota Law as an exchange student last year; after completing her law degree at Uppsala University, she returned to finish her LL.M. degree. She has developed a strong academic and practical interest in corporate transactions, business law, and tax analysis. Beyond the classroom, she has gained practical experience in corporate regulatory matters and tax research, reflecting her commitment to pursuing a career in international business law.

Ms. Kim brings an unusually interdisciplinary background spanning history, music, performance, and education to legal study. She studied history at Sogang University in Seoul before pursuing advanced conservatory training in Italy, where she earned degrees in opera performance and Baroque vocal chamber music at the Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” di Milano. She later earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota and has taught music and voice at several U.S. institutions, including Trinity Washington University. Ms. Kim has also earned the American Law Specialist Certificate from KOABELS American Research Institute in South Korea. Returning to the University of Minnesota for her LL.M., Ms. Kim hopes to develop the legal skills to advocate for underrepresented communities.

Mr. Lee comes to legal study with a professional foundation in healthcare. As a registered nurse in both Australia and South Korea, and later as a military medic, he became increasingly interested in the broader challenges faced by communities experiencing healthcare inequality. His service during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted him to think more deeply about the relationship between public health measures and individual rights. His later work in international sales for a healthcare technology company added a business and cross-border dimension to that perspective. These experiences ultimately led him to explore how law can address structural issues in healthcare and earning an American Law Specialist Certificate from KOABELS American Research Institute in South Korea. At Minnesota Law, Mr. Lee looks forward to building the legal foundation for a career addressing the intersection of healthcare systems, public policy, and individual rights.

Ms. Lenney is a UK-qualified solicitor with more than a decade of professional experience. During her practice in London, she represented refugees, asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking and contributed to strategic litigation involving government immigration policy. After relocating to Minnesota, she continued her immigration work as a paralegal, assisting with asylum and family-based immigration matters. Her experience across both the UK and U.S. legal environments has reinforced her interest in comparative legal practice and public-interest advocacy. Through the LL.M. program at Minnesota Law, Ms. Lenney aims to build a formal foundation in U.S. law. After graduation, she plans to sit for a U.S. bar exam and continue her legal career in immigration and human rights advocacy. 

Ms. Lopez is a third-year law student at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. Her interest in legal practice began with a voluntary internship at a notarial office while she was still in middle school. She currently works as a legal assistant at a firm specializing in personal injury law, an experience that has strengthened her interest in advocating for vulnerable individuals and in the practical role law can play in securing recognition and compensation. She is also a volunteer assistant with a wheelchair rugby team, reflecting her commitment to empathy, inclusion, and teamwork. Her exchange in the United States will allow her to compare the French civil law tradition with the American common law system. She aims to broaden her international perspective and bring it to her future legal career.

Mr. Magureanu is completing a Global Law degree at Tilburg University. His studies have focused on private international law and business law. His international legal education has already taken him from Romania to the Netherlands and to the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he gained firsthand experience with the U.S. legal system. Beyond the classroom, Mr. Magureanu has developed his advocacy skills through several ELSA moot court competitions. He has also interned with the Romanian Parliament, conducting comparative research on artificial intelligence regulation and the implementation of the EU AI Act. After completing his LL.M. degree, Mr. Magureanu aims to sit for the Washington, D.C. Bar and pursue a career involving transatlantic corporate and international legal matters.

Ms. Stinner recently completed her First State Examination at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she specialized in intellectual property and antitrust law. She has complemented her academic work with internships at German courts and a commercial law firm, and currently works as a legal assistant in data protection law. Her international experience includes a semester at Keio University Law School in Tokyo, as well as earlier years spent in the United States, including a high school year in Swanville, Minnesota. These experiences have given Minnesota a lasting personal significance for her and make returning for her LL.M. especially meaningful. Ms. Stinner hopes her time at Minnesota Law will deepen her interests in intellectual property and corporate law while allowing her to continue exploring her professional path. 

Ms. Vysotskaya brings more than eighteen years of international legal and consulting experience in banking and finance. After earning her graduate degree in Business Law in France, she built her career in capital markets, corporate finance, regulatory matters, and cross-border transactions, ultimately serving as Head of Legal for the Middle East and Africa at Crédit Agricole CIB. Having recently relocated to Minnesota, Ms. Vysotskaya is pursuing the Business Law LL.M. to anchor her international experience in the U.S. legal framework. She is keen to explore emerging issues at the intersection of law, compliance, technology, and responsible governance. She aims to continue her career advising global organizations from the United States.
