Refresh Printers on Computers

If the installed printers are not showing up, or not working, refreshing the printers may help.

  1. Locate the printer like icon in the notification area. In Windows, it is located on the right bottom; in Mac, on the upper right.

  2. If the printer icon does NOT show up, do the following.
    For Windows:
    a. Search “Services” app
    b. Right click the “Services” app to “Run as administrator” with the password for your login (NOT the University password).
    c. Right click “PaperCut Print Deploy Client” to choose “Start” or “Restart”, depending on the service's running state.

    For Mac:
    a. Use “Finder” to locate “Applications”  -> ”PaperCut Print Deploy Client”

    b. Double Click “Restart.command”. You will be prompted to enter your password for your login (NOT the University password).

  3. Right click the printer Icon to bring up the action menu.

  4. Select “View my printers” to verify your printers are installed. The expected screen should look like this

  5. You need correction if any of the following appears.
    a. You are asked to sign in. Please sign in with your UMN Internet ID (first part of your email address) and its password.
    b. The user name below “Change User” is not your Internet ID. Please click “Change User” and sign in with your UMN Internet ID and its password.
