Download and Install Examplify

  1. Open your web browser of choice (Safari has limited support) and go to ExamSoft. Login in the top left, using your UofM Internet ID (the first part of your email address).  Your initial exam password is your 7-digit student ID number.

  2. Click on "Download" when you see the "Install & Register Examplify" pop-up

  3. Save the installer file and then run it

  4. Once the download is complete, you can close your web browser. The Examplify Installation Wizard will open.  Click on "Next/Continue."
    If you get a message on your Mac laptop that the package could not be installed because it is from an unidentified developer: Instructions on how to fix Mac Unidentified Developer Error.

  5. Agree to the license agreement (after reading it thoroughly, of course!) and then click "Next."

  6. Choose the "Complete" installation for PC and click "Next." For Mac click "Install"

  7. On the next window for PC, click "Install." For Mac enter your credentials then "Install Software"

  8. The installation files will be downloaded and installed automatically. If you had a previous version of Examplify installed last semester, it will be automatically updated to be compatible with this semester's exams.

  9. When the installation is complete, check the "Launch Examplify" box if available and click "Finish/Close."

Once your software is installed, you are not finished. Please continue with the instructions below.

Register Examplify

  1. A window should automatically pop up prompting you to register the new version of Examplify. If it doesn't, you will now see that there is an "Examplify" icon on your desktop.  Double-click it. If you have a Mac, it will be in the Applications folder. (Do not move it out of the Applications folder.)

  2. Examplify will open and ask you to register.  It will first prompt you to enter an Institution ID. Enter "umnlaw" (without the quotes) in to the box and click "Next."

  3. Next enter your UofM Internet ID, and the password which you used to log into the Examsoft Portal, then click "Sign In."

Once your software is installed, you are not finished. Please continue with the instructions below.

Download Exam Files

  1. Once registration is complete, you will be taken to the Examplify home page. There you will see a list of exams available to you for download under the "Ready for Download" section in the left side menu. Select an exam file and click "Download Exam". Download all exams in this window, even if it is not an exam you will be taking with Examplify! If you are missing any exams, email [email protected] and we can verify for you whether there is an Examplify exam associated with that course.

  2. The download process may take a few minutes.

  3. Once the download is complete, the exam will appear under the "Downloaded" tab in the left side menu.

  4. Verify that all of your exam files have successfully downloaded - all of your successfully downloaded exam files should appear under the "Downloaded" tab in the left side menu.

You're almost finished! 

Test Examplify

Test Examplify by selecting a Mock Exam. You can take each Mock Exam as many times as you'd like, but you must download it again each time you want to take it. You will also only receive an upload confirmation email the first time you upload an exam file. This means if you take the same Mock Exam multiple times, you will only receive the upload confirmation email the first time you complete and upload the exam.

  1. Open Examplify, click on the exam you wish to take, and select "Start Exam".

  2. The Mock Exams all have the same password: Password-1. *
    *Your Law School exams will have a password that will be provided to you at the start of your scheduled exam. Some exams have pre-exam notices. Read through the information they provide and wait at the screen shown below for in-class proctored exams until instructed to begin your exam by the exam proctor. Once you check the box and select "Continue," you will be in the exam environment.

  3. Test out the Examplify environment.  Make sure it works as expected.*

Congratulations! You are now ready to take your exams with Examplify.
