Steve Baird brings three decades of intellectual property expertise to the classroom as a practicing shareholder at Greenberg Traurig's Minneapolis office. For thirty-four years, he has guided clients through the full spectrum of trademark law—from strategic brand clearance and portfolio management to high-stakes litigation and enforcement actions, spanning domestic and international markets.
Steve's excellence has earned him top-tier recognition: Band 1 ranking in Chambers USA Guide for Minnesota, inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, and listing in The Legal 500 United States. The World Trademark Review has placed him in their Gold Band and named him a WTR Global Leader since 2020, describing him as "a brand protection maven" and "a well-rounded brand strategist."
Before joining Greenberg Traurig in 2019, Steve became a leading voice in trademark law through his award-winning DuetsBlog, authoring nearly 1,000 posts over a decade. His clear, practical writing earned him recognition as the top author on trademark matters by JD Supra's "Readers' Choice Awards" for two consecutive years.
Steve earned his J.D. with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1990 and clerked for Senior Judge Wilson Cowen at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
