Patricia Beety is General Counsel for the League of Minnesota Cities and its affiliate organizations. Prior to assuming the General Counsel role, Pat specialized in employment and constitutional litigation and supervised the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust’s in-house litigation group. For over 30 years, Pat has represented Minnesota cities and city officials in state and federal court, administrative agencies, and before the state legislature. She regularly provides guidance and training to lawyers across the state on a variety of constitutional, employment and privacy matters. Pat has served in numerous leadership roles in civil law related organizations in Minnesota and nationally. Her recognitions include the P. Kenneth Kohnstamm Pro Bono Attorney Award (MSBA), MDLA President’s Award, IMLA Outstanding State League Counsel, DRI State Leadership Award, and Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorney of the Year. Pat has taught Law in Practice since 2013.
