Derek Waller is an attorney at Lockridge Grindal Nauen PLLP where he practices in the areas of health care law, employee benefits litigation, antitrust, and business law. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joan N. Ericksen in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Mr. Waller graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2019. He graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and was awarded the Lockhart Award for Excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. In law school, he served as a Managing and Research Editor on the Minnesota Law Review, an instructor in the legal writing program, and as a volunteer student attorney with Rainbow Health, then known as the Minnesota AIDS Project. Before attending law school, Mr. Waller worked for a major electronic health records company as a project manager, where he managed federal regulatory compliance for the company’s home health and hospice clinical and billing teams. He holds a B.A. in English and history from St. Olaf College.
