Carla J. Baumel is an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota. She serves in the Violent & Major Crimes Section of the Criminal Division. Carla attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an undergraduate honors merit scholar and graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School magna cum laude in 2015. After law school, Carla clerked in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin for Judge J.P. Stadtmueller. Following this clerkship, Carla worked on patent and antitrust litigation at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office. Carla then transitioned to public service as an Assistant Attorney General in Antitrust for the State of Colorado where she litigated big tech and health care matters.
