
James Coleman joined Minnesota Law this fall as a professor of law. He also serves as a fellow with the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment. He formerly was a professor of law and the Robert G. Storey Distinguished Faculty Fellow at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. His scholarship focuses on the regulation of North American energy companies. He is teaching Contracts this fall and Energy Law in the spring.

Ra’Shya Ghee ‘13 transitioned from her role as the assistant dean of diversity, equity, and inclusion to visiting assistant professor of law this fall. Before joining Minnesota Law, she practiced criminal defense and family law in Ohio at the municipal, state, and appellate levels for several years. She also has worked as an adjunct law professor since 2017. Her work considers the tangible ways in which the law legitimizes identity as a social reality and as a hierarchal system. She is teaching Equal Protection: Race and the Civil Rights Acts in the spring.

Emmanuel Mauleón joined Minnesota Law as an associate professor of law this fall. He was formerly the Bernard A. and Lenore S. Greenberg Scholar Fellow at the UCLA School of Law. He writes about the role that police and other state security actors play in producing social, political, and legal regimes of domination and subordination. He is an expert in race and the law, policing, and critical race theory. He will be teaching Property in the spring.

Ilan Wurman joined Minnesota Law as an associate professor of law this fall. He was previously an associate professor of law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he taught administrative law and constitutional law. He writes primarily on the Fourteenth Amendment, administrative law, separation of powers, and constitutionalism. He is teaching Constitutional Law: Federalism and Separation of Powers this fall and Administrative Law in the spring.

Olivia Kurtz was promoted to senior event manager from her previous position as events and events marketing manager. She is responsible for leading and promoting events at Minnesota Law such as the Stein Lecture, endowed and appointment lectures, and commencement.

Terese Lynch was promoted to assistant director of alumni relations from her previous role as alumni relations officer. In this new position, she focuses on building impactful programs and meaningful opportunities to engage Minnesota Law’s 14,000+ alumni. She also leads the Partners at Work program. She supported the creation of the Minnesota Law AluMNae network and leadership board, organized the student and alumni fall tailgate event during orientation, and collaborated with the University of Minnesota Alumni Association to establish a storefront to offer Minnesota Law merchandise in the alumni market.
