Meet the Human Rights Center
Join the Human Rights Center for this lunch session to learn more about the work of the Center and opportunities for students and partnerships. Faculty, staff, and students will share information about:
- opportunities for students to gain hands-on training and professional development in the field of human rights and international law;
- current research and advocacy work in the areas of conflict and security; gender and sexuality; rights of non-citizens; business and corporate accountability; environmental justice; and using international mechanisms to advance human rights at home; and
- support for faculty, students, and partners to engage with the United Nations human rights framework and related fora through the Human Rights Center’s UN consultative status (ECOSOC) and global networks
This event is open to all and organized as part of the University of Minnesota's International Education Week programming.
The Human Rights Center at the Law School leads research, advocacy, and education at the cutting-edge of international human rights law and practice. We work with partners inside and outside of the University to advance solutions to pressing issues in our state and world and to support local and global human rights movements. Founded in 1988, the Center maintains a global reputation for world-class research and thought leadership, a dedicated teaching mission, and pivotal support to human rights defenders.
Lunch will be provided, please RSVP here.
