Inaugural Charles Rubenstein Lecture

Professor Noah Feldman will deliver the inaugural Charles Rubenstein Lecture on April 8, 2025. The Charles Rubenstein Lecture focuses on Jewish contributions to the American legal system.
Feldman is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law, Chair of the Society of Fellows, and founding director of the Julis-Rabinowitz Program on Jewish and Israeli Law at Harvard University. He specializes in constitutional studies, particularly those that emphasize power and ethics, the design of innovative governance solutions, law and religion, and the history of legal ideas.
Feldman is a policy and public affairs columnist for Bloomberg Opinion, The New York Review of Books, and The New York Times Magazine. He has also been a contributing writer for nearly a decade. He hosts the Deep Background podcast, an interview show that explores the historical, scientific, legal, and cultural context behind the biggest news stories.
Feldman is the author of 10 books, including his latest, To Be a Jew Today: A New Guide to God, Israel, and the Jewish People (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2024).
A brief reception will follow the lecture from approximately 5 to 6 p.m. in Auerbach Commons. Light refreshments will be provided.
