Join the Human Rights Center for a Human Rights in Practice session with Anna Bachan '23. During this session, Anna will discuss her role as a Junior Professional Officer at the United Nations and give students advice on how to pursue these types of roles. She will also present on other programs at the UN for young professionals, like internships, the YPP program, UN Volunteers.

Anna Bachan is a human rights lawyer specializing in accountability for misconduct and the protection of victims within the United Nations system, particularly in cases of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). She currently serves as a Human Rights Officer with the Office of the Victims’ Rights Advocate at the UN Secretariat in New York, where she advances victim-centered approaches across the UN’s response to misconduct, including sexual and gender-based violence. Anna has previously served with UN missions in Colombia and with international organizations such as the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, UN Women, and Human Rights Watch. She holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Minnesota Law School (Class of 2023), where she specialized in Public International Law.

This event is hybrid. Feel free to join us online via Zoom or at the in-person viewing room in Mondale Hall room 45. If you are joining the in-person viewing room, please feel free to bring your own lunch.
