Defending the Rule of Law in Modern Democracy
In this CLE, panelists will examine the contemporary challenges to the rule of law and democratic norms, focusing on the legal and ethical responsibilities of lawyers to defend these foundational principles. We will analyze specific threats from executive overreach and political attacks on the judiciary, and detail the proactive measures lawyers are taking to uphold legal stability and protect constitutional rights. The program will cover strategic litigation, ethical advocacy, and the importance of public education in a highly polarized environment, providing practitioners with a blueprint for action to ensure a just and accountable society.
