Commencement 2025 

The University of Minnesota Law School invites the Class of 2025 and their guests to our 137th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 17, 2025. 

The ceremony begins promptly at 10 a.m. (central time) and lasts approximately 2 hours. 

Students should plan to arrive at Northrop by 8:30 a.m. Tickets are not necessary and there is no guest limit for graduates. The doors will open to the public at 9 a.m. Additional communications about commencement will be sent to the Class of 2025 throughout the spring semester. 

University Avenue and I-94 Projects Impacting Campus Commutes:

Hennepin County will begin phase 2 of the University Avenue and Fourth Street Improvement Project during the week of March 31, 2025. This phase will close two lanes of University Avenue between 10th Avenue SE and 14th Avenue SE through the end of May. Plan extra time for your commute if you use University Avenue to enter campus. Campus bus routes 122 and 125 will be detoured to 5th Street SE during construction. 

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will begin work on overpasses on I-94 in Minneapolis. I-94 will be fully closed in both directions between I-35W and Huron Boulevard the weekend of April 4. Following the full closure, both directions will be reduced to 2 lanes through at least August. The entrance to I-94 from Huron Boulevard on the East Bank will be closed through mid-June, at which point the closure will switch to the I-94 exit ramps to Huron Boulevard. Drivers should follow signed detours.
