Moot Court Competition Team: National Health Law Transactional Moot Court Team
The Health Law Transactional team provides a rare opportunity to experience what practicing as a health law transactional associate is really like. You will propose a transaction structure that achieves your hypothetical healthcare client’s goals while mitigating regulatory risks. The competition involves, as a team, drafting a 25-page memo to your client and presenting to the “board of directors” in Chicago. Past prompts have included parties such as nonprofit and for-profit health systems, telehealth providers, and digital health care companies. Issues you will learn about include corporate transaction structures, anti-trust, nonprofit law, HIPAA, Stark law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the corporate practice of medicine doctrine, Medicare, Medicaid, and more.
