Minnesota Court of Appeals at Mondale Hall

The Law School will be hosting the Minnesota Court of Appeals on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd @ 12:15 p.m. in Room 25.

Professional Pathways for Pursuing Gender Justice

This event will feature two parts: a panel and a professional networking session. During the panel, professionals from diverse backgrounds will share how they promote human rights, gender equity, and the rights of women in their professions, as well as the possibilities and limits of the law for achieving gender justice.

The Free Speech Recession and How to Reverse It: Five Lessons from History featuring Professor Jacob Mchangama

Join us on October 7, 2024 for the 39th annual Silha Lecture as Professor Jacob Mchangama explores the ongoing decline in free speech and offers five key historical lessons to address this pressing issue. How have elite fears, from the printing press to Generative AI, shaped our current landscape? Can decentralization and a robust culture of free speech turn the tide? These lessons underscore the importance of learning from the past to safeguard free speech today and in the future.

U.S. Supreme Court Preview Panel – 2024-25 Term

The 2020 presidential election resulted in record voting turnout and an aftermath of legal battles around election law and voting rights. This CLE will discuss important election law legislation and trends since the 2020 election and looks at potential legal issues going into the 2024 election.

The 2024 James H. Binger Center for New Americans Fall Immigration Forum

The James H. Binger Center for New Americans invites you to attend the 2024 Fall Immigration Forum on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the University of Minnesota Law School, Walter F. Mondale Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This year’s forum will focus on immigrants’ right to thrive in the U.S. economy that has historically extracted immigrant labor with minimal worker protection.  Sessions will provide historical perspective and present innovative ideas for protecting and advancing the rights of noncitizens in the workplace.
