Underscoring the importance of upholding human rights in our local community and on the global stage, stop by the Law Library for coffee and cookies and to share your hope for advancing human rights in 2025.

Prof Ni Aolain, former UN Special Rapporteur on Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights (2017-2023) will share extracts from her forthcoming book drawing on her work in her UN mandate, with a particular focus on the conflict in Syria, and the counter-terrorism practices of state and non-state actors in North East Syria and their human rights consequences. The presentation will particularly draw on her visit to NE Syria in Summer 2023 and her observations and experiences in this conflict zone. 1 Standard CLE credit will be requested.
