Physician Duties When Law Restricts Reproductive Health Care

Since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022, physicians may find their professional obligations to care for patients in conflict with state laws restricting reproductive health care. For nearly 50 years, Roe v. Wade protected a pregnant person's right to terminate a pregnancy in the United States.

Protecting Queer Agency through Asylum Advocacy

The U.S. asylum process thrives on identifying victims of persecution who are seeking a safe haven in the U.S.  The dehumanizing experience of seeking asylum is often compounded for those seeking asylum because of their queer identity.  Experienced attorneys who have represented LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and clients will share their personal experiences with the asylum process.

Meet AILA: Careers in Immigration Law

Join members of the Executive Committee of the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association to learn about careers in immigration law.  Several members of the committee are alumni of the University of Minnesota Law School.  They will share information about their career paths, recommend ways to get involve in immigration law during law school and describe what their immigration law practice looks like today.
