This panel discussion will bring together community leaders, activists and artists to reflect on recent hate crimes against the Asian community, with particular focus on the March 16th shootings in Atlanta, Georgia. Professor Jigna Desai of the Gender, Women and Sexuality and Asian American Studies Department at the UMN, Sun Yung Shin, poet and author of Unbearable Splendor and MJ Carpio, member of the Asian MN Alliance for Justice, and Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL), will lead the panel to provide space for connection, discussion and healing.
