Minnesota Law students spent their summer working in a wide variety of summer jobs throughout the United States and in several other countries. Minnesota Law Mourns the Passing of Bruce Douglas '70, Former 10th District Judge
Bruce Douglas '70, a former judge in Minnesota’s 10th Judicial District, passed away on Aug. 13.
A graduate of 1967 Carleton College, Douglas served as in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps after obtaining his law degree from Minnesota Law. He practiced law in Buffalo, Minnesota, before being appointed a judge.
Douglas enjoyed time spent with his family, being outdoors—especially hunting and fishing.
Per his request there will be no public service. A private family ceremony will held at Kreidler Cemetery.

Professor Fionnuala Ní Aoláin was recently interviewed on an episode of The Guardian's podcast series, Today in Focus. The episode focused on a Syrian prison that is currently holding hundreds of children who have never been convicted. The Guardian also interviewed Professor Ní Aoláin for an article on the same topic.

Professor Alan Rozenshtein was quoted in an article by The Age breaking down many of the legal challenges currently faced by Donald Trump, including the recent raid of his Mar-A-Lago property by the Department of Justice. With a multitude of legal challenges looming, the potential indictment of Donald Trump creates an unprecedented scenario. Reflecting on the situation, Professor Rozenshtein shared, “As insane as you think it is, it’s 10 times more insane.
Dean Jenkins, Eight Minnesota Law Alumni Honored by Minnesota Lawyer with Diversity & Inclusion Awards
Garry W. Jenkins, dean and William S. Pattee Professor of Law, and eight Minnesota Law alumni were honored by Minnesota Lawyer with Diversity and Inclusion Awards.
The award is for groups and individuals who have made a significant impact with respect to diversity and inclusion on the greater community or within their organizations. They will be honored at an awards celebration on Oct. 5. (Register)

Professor Alan Rozenshtein was recently interviewed on Fox News regarding the potential release of the Trump search warrant affidavit, lending his expertise as a former Justice Department national security lawyer. Prof. Rozenshtein explained that "its unlikely that the judge will grant the motion to disclose an unredacted copy", elaborating that "its possible that it will be released in redacted form, but it will probably be so redacted that it will basically be a bunch of black boxes on a white page, in a way that's not very helpful to anyone."
Robina Institute Executive Director Kelly Lyn Mitchell Honored by NASC with Richard P. Kern Memorial Award
Kelly Lyn Mitchell, executive director of Minnesota Law's Robina Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice and a lecturer in law, received the Richard P. Kern Memorial Award for 2022 from the National Association of Sentencing Commissions (NASC).
