Prof. Vaaler Interviewed on MPR about Indictments for Embezzlement at Starkey Technologies
Professor Paul M. Vaaler was interviewed and quoted by Minnesota Public Radio correspondent Matt Sepic about the September 22 indictment for embezzlement of more than $20 million by five executives who either worked at Eden Praire-based hearing aid maker Starkey Technologies or who did business with those Starkey executives. Vaaler commented on the likely criminal trial process and its impact on related civil litigation arising from the firing of the three Starkey executives and other Starkey employees in September 2015. Vaaler also commented on differences in corporate governance and oversight of executive behavior in public versus private, closely-held companies like Starkey.
