Prof. Vaaler Interviewed on WCCO Radio on Starbucks Coffee Initiative to Provide Free University Education to Workers
Professor Paul Vaaler commented on a new initiative announced by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to allocate $250 million to pay for online university education courses taken by Starbucks line workers over the next several years. As many as 25,000 Starbucks workers may take advantage of this initiative, which Starbucks is offering in tandem with Arizona State University. Vaaler commented on corporate social responsibility issues motivating this initiative and the possibility of replicating it with Minneapolis-area retailers Target or Best Buy and the University of Minnesota. Vaaler is a weekly business and legal affairs commentator on WCCO Radio's Dave Lee Show.
