Prof. Kirtley Quoted in Washington Post on Fraternity's Plan to Sue Rolling Stone

Professor Jane Kirtley was quoted in a Washington Post article about Phi Kappa Psi fraternity's announcement that it plans to sue Rolling Stone magazine for a now-repudiated article describing a gang rape that allegedly occurred at the fraternity chapter house at the University of Virginia. Although other experts quoted suggested that Phi Kappa Psi was suing to vindicate its reputation, Kirtley pointed out that "the downside to bringing a libel case is that you open yourself up to discovery by the other side. The fraternity might want to think long and hard about its practices, the kinds of parties is has given."
