Prof. Vaaler Comments on Recent Developments in U.S. Banking Regulation
Professor Paul Vaaler was interviewed by WCCO News Radio's Dave Lee on recent changes in U.S. bank regulatory policy at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Reserve (Fed). Regulators at both the OCC and Fed are increasing engagement with board members of large U.S. banks to assure closer oversight of risk management, executive compensation, succession planning and other bank policies. Bank executives have voiced concerns that such regulatory policy changes will prompt directors to become too involved in daily bank management rather than longer-term bank strategy and governance. Vaaler is a weekly guest commenting on current business issues.
