Prof. Kirtley Discusses Protecting Journalists' Confidential Electronic Communications

Professor Jane Kirtley was quoted in a Columbia Journalism Review article, entitled "Teaching Cyber-Security," which described the challenges facing journalists who want to protect the privacy of their digital communications and to what extent this topic is taught in journalism schools. Kirtley advises students to communicate with sources "face to face" as "the only way to insure" security from electronic surveillance or disclosure of their confidential sources.
