Kirtley Criticizes Restrictions on Media Access

Prof. Jane Kirtley criticized decisions to exclude media representatives, including bloggers, and their recording equipment from local endorsing conventions in a story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "Whoever's making these decisions is really out of touch. If the political parties want to be relevant to young people, they have to stop acting like an old boys' club of 1870," she said. Although she acknowledged that "politicians are wary of recording devices, the answer isn't kicking everyone out."
