Prof. Meili Delivers Series of Lectures at Law Schools in Medellin, Colombia

Professor Stephen Meili presented a series of lectures and clinical training exercises to human rights professors and students at four law schools in Medellin, Colombia during the week of August 25. The lectures were part of an ongoing collaboration between the University of Minnesota and the law schools at Universidad de Medellín, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad Pontifícia Bolivariana, and Universidad Católica de Oriente. Meili's lecture topics included his research on public interest law (or "cause lawyering") in Latin America over the past 25 years and teaching human rights in a law school setting. He also led several group-based exercises in which students played the roles of interested parties attempting to resolve human rights disputes in Colombia.
