Prof. Murray Trains Volunteer Clemency Lawyers in Washington, D.C.
Professor JaneAnne Murray was one of the faculty training volunteer lawyers in a two-day training event in Washington, D.C., in Clemency Project 2014 (CP2014) on July 15-16, 2014. CP2014 is a historic collaboration among advocacy and defense groups to screen and represent federal inmates in the Obama administration's clemency initiative, and the broadest proposed use of Presidential pardon power in history. To date, over 20,000 inmates have submitted surveys to participate in the program. The training was streamed live over the web, as well as recorded for future viewing. It is required viewing by any lawyer who wishes to take on one of these cases with the supervision and support of CP2014.
