Prof. Orfield Quoted in Pioneer Press on St. Paul Landlord Suit

Professor Myron Orfield and Vice President Walter Mondale were quoted in a Pioneer Press article, entitled "How Obama Administration got St. Paul to Pull Landlord Suit Out of Supreme Court." Both Orfield and Mondale advised the city of St. Paul on the implications of the Magner vs. Gallagher case. They both agreed that the Supreme Court might use Magner as a vehicle to eliminate a "disparate impact" cause of action under the Federal Fair Housing Act. Orfield and Mondale both applauded St. Paul's decision to withdraw its petition to challenge that Appeals Court decision on "disparate impact" to the Supreme Court.
