Meet Minnesota Law’s Incoming Editors-in-Chief for 2024-25
Minnesota Law is excited to announce that four women will lead the University of Minnesota Law School’s law journals in the 2024-25 academic year. We asked them to share a little about their backgrounds, plans for the future, and what they are looking forward to leading their respective journals.
Q&A: Arielle S. Wagner ’16, President of MAIBA
Arielle S. Wagner ’16 was recently elected president of the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association (MAIBA), a non-profit organization of American Indian attorneys, law students, and officers of tribal courts. An associate at Lockridge Grindal Nauen in Minneapolis, Wagner concentrates her practice in the firm’s antitrust, data breach, and tribal government representation groups. She is an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa in Northern Minnesota.
Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Natalie Hudson ’82 to Deliver Commencement Address
Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Natalie Hudson ’82 will be the Law School’s 2019 commencement speaker.
Hudson was appointed to the Minnesota Supreme Court bench on Oct. 26, 2015 by Governor Mark Dayton. She was elected in 2016. She previously served 14 years on the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Minnesota Law Review Launches Podcast Series, ‘Experto Crede’
The Minnesota Law Review recently launched "Experto Crede,” a new legal podcast featuring a series of interviews with article authors and other thought leaders. Diana Murphy ’74, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge for the Eighth Circuit, Dies
Judge Diana E. Murphy ’74, the first woman ever appointed to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, has died.
Murphy joined the Eighth Circuit bench in 1994, having been nominated by President Bill Clinton. For 19 years, she was the court’s sole woman member. She had previously served 14 years as a judge in the U.S. District Court, including two years as chief judge. Her prior experience included serving as a judge on the Hennepin County Municipal Court and working as a lawyer in private practice in Minneapolis.
