Prof. Alan Rozenshtein Quoted by Washington Post on the U.S. Court of Appeals Decision in Texas
Professor Alan Rozenshtein was recently quoted by the Washington Post on the U.S. Court of Appeals recent upholding of a Texas law that bars social-media companies from removing posts based on political ideology. The decision comes in the wake of a relentless back and forth between calls for social media companies to both curb misinformation and harmful content, and to not censor political expression. Professor Rozenshtein believes that Texas law goes too far, and that having a completely unmoderated space is "great for the trolls, but that’s not conducive to other people’s speech — especially to those who are going to be threatened and turned off. There has to be some balance.”
