Prof. Cotter Quoted in Law360 on Apple-Motorola Patent Dispute
Professor Thomas Cotter was quoted in a Law360 article about the Federal Circuit's recent decision in the Apple-Motorola smartphone patent dispute affirming a district court ruling that Motorola cannot obtain an injunction for the alleged infringement of a standard-essential patent that Motorola had committed to license on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms. Cotter stated that while the court "left the door open to injunctions on essential patents, its refusal to grant one to Motorola suggests they won't be a frequent occurrence."
