Greenwashing 101
The increased consumer demand for environmentally and socially responsible products has led to an increase of more products marked as environmentally responsible. With that has come an increase in greenwashing litigation, claiming many of these market claims are false, inflated or misleading. This panel will look at the ways greenwashing litigation has grown over the past few years, how it has impacted federal policies and guidance, and the current landscape of state and federal greenwashing litigation.
Panelists include:
- Prof. James Coleman, Minnesota Law
- Kathryn Hoffman '06, CEO, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy
- Emily Wessels '14, Sr Counsel, Marketing, D&T, and Privacy, General Mills
- Kelly Laudon '06, Director Assistant General Counsel, The Hershey Company
