Women's International Human Rights

This seminar addresses the international legal and normative frameworks on women's rights, including the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and other United Nations gender equality agenda items, for example the women, peace and security agenda in the United Nations Security Council; intersectional approaches to gender and human rights in the international system; and the role of women's civil society and non-governmental organizations at the international, national and local levels. The seminar will address specific gender equality and women's rights issues in context (in Afghanistan, Nigeria, and other countries).
