Immigrants' Rights Under Siege and the Road Ahead

Efforts to deport and punish immigrants and asylum seekers intensify every month. In these trying times, advocates around the country are challenging injustice at all levels. The Binger Center's annual forum brings together lawyers and other advocates to learn from each other's victories and develop tools to continue the struggle to protect human rights, basic dignity, and the rule of law.

Thai Judge Sutharat Suriyaket, LL.M. ’16, Reflects on Her Experience at Minnesota Law

Sutharat Suriyaket of Thailand originally came to Minnesota Law to become immersed in American culture and to ultimately achieve her dream of becoming a judge. After obtaining her LL.M. in 2016, she returned to Thailand, where today she serves on the bench of the Kantharalak Provincial Court.

Rising 2L Molly Doda Selected for Rural Summer Legal Corps Fellowship

Rising 2L Molly Doda has been selected for the 2019 Rural Summer Legal Corps Fellowship.

Each summer, Equal Justice Works partners with Legal Services Corporation (LSC) to support 30 dedicated law students who want to serve rural and isolated communities across the United States and its territories. Student Fellows spend eight to ten weeks during the summer conducting outreach, exploring innovative ways to meet with clients living in remote areas, and building capacity at the organizations where they serve.

Prentiss Cox ’90 Promoted to Professor of Law

The Board of Regents has approved the promotion of Prentiss Cox ’90 to professor of law, effective with the start of the 2019-20 academic year.

Cox ’90 writes and teaches in the area of consumer protection law, public civil law enforcement, civil procedure and legal practice skills. He is co-founder of Law in Practice, which is a required 1L course teaching integrated doctrinal and professional skills learning.
