Michael Gilliland '76
After graduating from the U of M Law School and New York University (LL.M. tax), Michael Gilliland practiced business litigation, briefly, and transactional law primarily including: foreign and domestic merger, asset acquisition and disposition; theatrical production; private equity and venture capital; corporate; real estate; and real estate finance: commercial, multifamily residential, resort, syndication and construction); commodity trading; healthcare; business structure and formation; domestic and international tax; securities law; entertainment firms and artists.
Gilliland began practice in New York City with a large commercial practice firm, then moved to Minnesota and has practiced here since, with the exception of seven years with a Vail, Colorado Real estate company developing and constructing residential communities where he was a principal and general counsel.
Gilliland is married with two daughters.
