Evan Gelles is a Supervising Attorney at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid's housing unit. He represents low-income tenants and supervises the housing team in providing direct representation to low-income tenants in eviction proceedings, subsidized housing terminations, housing discrimination cases, and health & safety litigation.

Gelles previously served as a Staff Attorney at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe’s legal aid office, where he managed a high-volume criminal caseload, as well as represented clients in civil matters in both state and tribal court. He was also a former Staff Attorney and Robina Public Interest Scholars Fellow at the Legal Rights Center, a non-profit law firm specializing in criminal defense and restorative justice practices and advocacy.

Gelles graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.
