Minnesota Law Hosts Mornings at Mondale
Minnesota Law launched Mornings at Mondale this fall, a monthly CLE event for alumni and friends to advance their professional development through essential CLE credits and networking opportunities. October’s CLE was “Heading to the Polls: Where is Election Law in 2024?” featuring Professor Richard Painter, S. Walter Richey Professor of Corporate Law; Angie Behrens '05, assistant attorney general at the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General & Manager - Commerce, Election, & Trades Division; Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon '96; and Justin Erickson '13, general counsel, Minnesota Secretary of State.
The panelists discussed how the 2020 presidential election resulted in record voting turnout, as well as a plethora of legal battles around election law and voting rights. They covered important election law legislation and trends since the 2020 election and looked at potential legal issues in the 2024 election cycle.
