Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin Interviewed on Radio Canada About Canadian Children Held in Syria

Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin was interviewed on Radio Canada this week about Canadian children held in detention camps in Syria. She is the first United Nations official to have had access to the overcrowded Al-Hol and Roj camps, as well as to the "Panorama" prison , where 52,000 suspected jihadists and their family members from 57 different countries are detained. including Canada.

According to the UN, 60% of detainees are children, and most are under 12 years old.

In the interview, Ní Aoláin said she didn't "believe there is another detention center on earth where the vast majority of the prison population is primarily made up of children under the age of 12. It's horrifying!"
