Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin Co-Authors Op-Ed on Bringing Swedish Citizens Home from Detention Camps in Northeastern Syria

Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin and co-authors wrote about the need for Sweden to bring its citizens home from camps in Syria.

The article states, "Five Swedish children between the ages of four and seven remain in a prison camp in northeastern Syria. Since 2019, they have been kept together with their mothers locked in a tent camp in the desert under very difficult humanitarian conditions. The Kurdish self-government in northeastern Syria has for several years officially appealed to Sweden to take its citizens home. The U.S. has offered to help countries like Sweden to make it possible. What is required is that the Swedish government approves that the children and their mothers can come home."
