Culture + Capacity: How Traditional Professionals Can Partner with Visionary Entrepreneurs to Enrich Diverse Communities
The Corporate Institute and Black Law Students Association will be hosting a lively panel discussion with SomSull partner Tim Sullivan ('10) and his client Houston White, a local entrepreneur making waves in local and national news media for his efforts to “to create a vibrant future for the Camdentown neighborhood of North Minneapolis” through his various businesses including “Black Excellence'' and “BE the Change” apparel, The Get Down Coffee Co., Target + Houston White, and Camdentown Flats.
Tim and Houston will be joined on the panel by business consultant Ron Richard, who leverages his prior career in big banking to help thriving, early-stage businesses get to scale, and Billy Mzenga, Director of the Institute for Social Innovation at the University of St. Thomas, an entrepreneur and business advisor. A student from the Black Law Students Association will be moderating the panel.
Houston, Ron, and Billy will share their experiences as Black entrepreneurs and business advisors, with a reflection from all of them and from Tim on the role of lawyers as a trusted advisor, saving time for an audience Q&A.
