Patent Field Placement

All students must read the Rules for Supervised Field Placements before registering.

This course provides an opportunity for students to work with and learn from lawyers and patent professionals in industry and law firms. The instructor and student will work together to find an appropriate placement that matches the student’s interests and host’s needs.

Students must complete an online application form in order to register for a Topical Field Placement course AFTER obtaining pre-approval from the faculty advisor. The registration form is at this link: Topical Field Placement Form.

Prereq or co-req one of the following: Law 6224/5224 Patents, Law 6231/5231 Patent Prosecution I, Law 6243/5243 Patent Research & Writing, or Director of Patent Law Programs permission.
