Latinx and the Law

This course explores legal and theoretical issues relevant to Latina/e/o/x people in the United States. Topics of study will include the role of the law in defining Latinx identity, the legal histories of Latinx subgroups such as Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, and Cuban Americans, the legal regulation of language and accent, immigration and citizenship law, and antidiscrimination law.
