Our distinguished alumni include a former U.S. vice president, Minnesota Supreme Court justices, representatives at the U.S. Congress, and leaders of corporations and major nonprofit organizations. West South Central

With the second largest state population in the U.S., Texas offers a wide variety of practice areas including energy, healthcare, technology, retail, banking and finance, and tax. Known as the energy capital of the world, Houston is the largest legal market in Texas. 50 Fortune 500 companies have headquarters in Texas and over 30 national firms have opened offices in Texas within the last few years. Students connect with employers in this region through our on and off-campus interview programs, growing alumni base, and via public interest job fairs and resources.

South Atlantic

Many graduates work in this region, particularly Washington, D.C., home to the federal government and the second-largest legal market in the country. The Equal Justice Works Career Fair, one of the largest gathering of public sector employers, offers Minnesota Law students many opportunities, and the Law School’s dedicated Public Interest Director works with students to explore career paths in federal agencies and public interest organizations in D.C. The Career Center also hosts an annual recruitment program and provides access and resources to a wide range of employers in D.C.

Pacific

The Bay Area, in particular, draws many of our graduates interested in the legal work driven by tech companies, real estate and entertainment industries, as well as graduates interested in public interest law. Along with our annual recruitment program in San Francisco and Palo Alto, students access job fairs, including the Bay Area Diversity Career Fair and San Francisco’s Intellectual Property Job Fair. Alumni ambassadors serve as a point of contact for more than 200 active alumni within the San Francisco community.

New England

New England is known for its Atlantic coastline, colonial architecture, and colorful autumn foliage, with Boston as the region's hub. Popular for venture capital and private equity companies, Boston is an incubator for technology and biotech companies. Throughout New England, Minnesota Law graduates have secured positions in firms, state and federal judicial clerkships, in-house, public interest, government, and in financial services. Minnesota Law students participate in the Boston Lawyers Group Job Fair and the Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair.
