Class of 2016
Saudi Arabia
Mr. Al Dossari earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from King Saud University in 2013. After earning his degree he served as a faculty member in the law department of King Faisal University. This summer Mr. Al Dossari participated in the IECP English Program at Penn State University. Mr. Al Dossari looks forward to improving his research skills while obtaining his LL.M. degree. He is interested in comparative research between Saudi commercial law and Islamic law and hopes to one day help further develop the laws in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia
Mr. Al-farsi received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Islamic University in 2008. He then went on to receive his master’s degree in 2015. While receiving his master’s degree, Mr. Al-farsi volunteered for both Dar Al-Faroq and the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital. Mr. Al-farsi also helped to establish an Arabic Club in Minneapolis. While obtaining his LL.M. degree, Mr. Al-farsi would like to further develop and improve his research skills. He hopes to one day return to his home country and pursue a career teaching law.
Saudi Arabia
Mr. Almojil attended King Saud University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2012. After graduating, Mr. Almojil began work as a legalist for Saudi Ceramic Company where he was responsible for formulating and interpreting company contracts and mediating labor disputes. Currently, Mr. Almojil is participating in an English language course at the Lewis and Clark Institution in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Almojil is aiming to focus on human rights law while in Minnesota. He then hopes to return to Saudi Arabi and pursue a career as a lawyer or legal consultant.

Mr. Alomari holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which he received from King Saud University in 2013. During his studies he was involved in the Law Society at King Saud University and worked for the Dr. Ahmad A.K.Al Saidan Law Firm. Since graduating, Mr. Alomari has engaged in corporate legal work in Saudi Arabia where he worked with both private and public entities. While attending the University of Minnesota Law School he would like to learn and develop his corporate and commercial legal skills further with the hopes of one day establishing his own law firm in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Alotaibi earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from King Saud University in 2012. After graduating, he worked as an assistant legal researcher for Zakat & Income Authority. Mr. Alotaibi is interested in comparative law studies and hopes to use his experience at the University of Minnesota Law School to become a distinguished business law attorney in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia
Mr. AlThemali attended King Saud University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2013. After earning his degree Mr. AlThemali began work as a credit administrator for Riyadh Bank where he was responsible for reviewing current practices and maintaining department policy in compliance with Saudi legal standards. Mr. AlThemali is excited to expand his legal knowledge while in the U.S. He hopes to one day return to Saudi Arabi and continue his legal career.
Saudi Arabia
Mr. Altwayan received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in 2010. He then went on to earn a master’s degree in Law in 2013 where he focused on legal policy. Since earning his degree, Mr. Altwayan has worked as a lecturer at The Higher Judicial Institute. Mr. Altwayan is excited to learn more about Business law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. After earning his degree, Mr. Altwayan would like continue on to earn a Ph.D. in Law.
China
Ms. An holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she received from Peking University Law School in 2014. During her studies Ms. An interned for Xicheng District People’s Court in Bejing where she assisted with court trials and drafting verdicts. Ms. An also attended Yulchon Law Firm’s Academic Conference in South Korea where she gained experience in public interest work. While earning her LL.M. degree Ms. An would like to focus on human rights protection and non-profit organizations. She hopes to one day work as a public interest lawyer.
Chile
Mr. Bolados earned his Law degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso School of Law in 2013. During his studies, Mr. Bolados worked as a legal aide in the Chilean Senate. Since graduation, Mr. Bolados has become a member of the Chile Bar Association and he has done legal work in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Mr. Bolados has been working as an attorney for the Chile Department of Treasury where he represents the government in various financial matters. Mr. Bolados hopes to expand his knowledge of corporate law while at the University of Minnesota. He would eventually like to pursue a career in international business.
Colombia
Ms. Borja holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she received in 2014. During her studies Ms. Borja served as the academic coordinator and professor assistant for the Tax Department of her university. Since graduating Ms. Borja has been working as a junior lawyer for the Tax Division of Deloitte Colombia where she acts as a tax advisor. Ms. Borja is excited to further her knowledge of business law while at the University of Minnesota. She would like to take her experience back to Colombia to help further develop the Colombian tax and business structure.
Thailand
Ms. Bunyasonthikul received her bachelor’s degree in law in 2012 from Thammasat University. She also holds a minor in Commercial and Business Law. Since earning her degree Ms. Bunyasonthikul has obtained her Thai Lawyer’s License and become a member of the Thai Bar Association. Ms. Bunyasonthikul is excited to attend the University of Minnesota Law School where she hopes to gain a deeper understanding of various legal systems. She would like to one day return to Thailand and fulfill her dream of becoming a judge.
Taiwan
Mr. Chang earned LL.B. and LL.M. degrees from Soochow University in Taiwan. He wrote his master’s thesis on the Taiwan Referendum Act. Since receiving his degree, Mr. Chang had worked for Taiwan Association for Human Rights, then founded the Taiwan Forever Association and Taiwan Jury Association with many senior lawyers, and served as a partner for Di‐ying Huang and Partners. Mr. Chang also serves as a committee member for the Legal and Political group of New Frontier Foundation and the Taipei Bar Association Human Rights Committee. Mr. Chang would like to further his study of human rights and US legal system while in the U.S. He hopes to return to Taiwan and promote political, judicial and social reform.
Thailand
Ms. Chantharasap holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she received from Chiang Mai University in 2009. In 2010, Ms. Chantharasap was awarded her Thai Lawyer’s License and in 2011 she was awarded her Notary Services Attorney License. Most recently, Ms. Chantharasap earned her LL.M. degree at SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Chantharasap hopes to enhance her knowledge of international law while obtaining her LL.M. degree at the University of Minnesota Law School. She would then like to return to Thailand and pursue a career in international commercial law.
Taiwan
Ms. Chia-Yu Chen attended Ming Chuan University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2009. During her studies wrote her bachelor’s thesis on the Relationship Between Urban Renewal Development and Administrative Law. She also served as an intern for the Legal Aid Foundation in Taipei where she helped provide legal information to legal organizations. Ms. Chia-Yu Chen would like to use her LL.M. degree and experiences in the U.S. to obtain her dream job of working for the legal authorities in Taiwan. She hopes to one day help reform Taiwan’s urban development system.
China
Mr. Fan Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Zhejiang University, which he received in 2015. While obtaining his degree he spent a summer at the University of British Columbia in Canada where he focused on transnational and common law. Mr. Fan Chen served as an assistant mediator for Hangzhou West Lake District People’s Court. He also worked as legal personnel in TongKun Group. While at the University of Minnesota, Mr. Fan Chen would like to focus his studies on corporate law. He then hopes to return to China and pursue his career as a business attorney.

Ms. Fanzhou Chen earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Renmin University of China in 2015 where she participated as a member of the Law School Moot Court Team and volunteered with the Youth Legal Association. While earning her bachelor’s degree Ms. Fanzhou Chen served as a legal assistant for Dacheng Law Offices in Bejing where she worked on contract and corporation disputes. Ms. Fanzhou Chen hopes to develop a better understanding of the legal system in the United States while obtaining her LL.M. degree. She would like to use her experience to one day establish her own pro-bono law firm in China.
China
Mr. Runjian Chen received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Hunan University in 2015. During his studies Mr. Runjian Chen interned for the Zhong Shan Intermediate People’s Court and as legal counsel for the Hunan University Law Clinic. Mr. Runjian Chen also served as the vice president for the HNU Rainbow Institution and was the Manager of the Psychology Branch at the Hunan Student Union. Mr. Chen hopes to learn more about the interaction between the Chinese and American legal systems while studying in Minnesota. Eventually, he would like to pursue a career in international business.
Taiwan
Mr. Tzuo-Jeng Chen attended National Chengchi University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2005. Since graduation Mr. Tzuo-Jeng Chen has worked as a litigation law clerk for the Taiwan High Court Tainan Branch and as a legal specialist for the National Fire Agency Section of the Ministry of the Interior R.O.C. Currently, Mr. Tzuo-Jeng Chen serves as a judiciary officer for the Taiwan Kaohsiung District Court. While at the University of Minnesota Law School Mr. Tzuo-Jeng Chen hopes to gain a deeper and more complete understanding of the common law system. He then plans to return to the Taiwanese Courts and serve as a Judge.

Ms. Chi holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she received from Shenzhen University in 2015. While obtaining her degree Ms. Chi interned for Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation and served as an assistant lawyer for Guangdong Ge Xiang Law Firm. Ms. Chi would like to gain a broader understanding of the worlds’ various legal platforms while earning her LL.M. degree. After obtaining her degree, she hopes to return to China and use her experience to begin practicing corporate law.
Brazil/France
Ms. De Souza Caixeta is an exchange student from Lyon 3 University where she is pursuing a degree in Business Law. During her studies Ms. De Souza Caixeta was elected Vice-President for Seminars and Conferences of the European Law Students’ Association in Lyon, where she organized a study visit to Warsaw. She also interned for FIDAL Law Firm in the area of corporate law. Ms. De Souza Caixeta is looking to expand on her knowledge of international business law while at the University of Minnesota. She hopes to one day work for a company with an international focus or practice at a business law firm.
China
Ms. Du attended East China University of Political Science and Law where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Law in 2014. Since completing her degree, Ms. Du has been working as a legal assistant for Shangong Guanghao Law Firm where she is responsible for drafting legal documents, collecting evidentiary materials, and coordinating client meetings. Ms. Du looks forward to gaining a better understanding of the American legal system while in the U.S. After earning her degree she would like to return home and use her experience to further enhance the Chinese legal system.
China
Mr. Guan obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law from Dong Hua University in 2014. While obtaining his degree he participated in the Freshmen’s Debate Competition and in the “Boya Cup” Science and Technology Thesis Competition. Since graduating he has served as a lawyer’s assistant for Sunjun & Associates in Shainghai, China. Mr. Guan would like to focus on common law and international law while in Minnesota. He hopes this will prepare him for more legal success upon returning to China.

Ms. Guo earned an associate degree in Journalism from Zhengzhou University School of Journalism and Communication in 1999. She then went on to obtain a master’s degree in Law from Shandong University School of Law where she focused on Economic Law. While earning her masters Ms. Guo participated in the Jinan Student Speech Competition and the Moot Court Debate Competition. Most recently, Ms. Guo has been working as an attorney for Beijing Zhongrui Law Firm where she focuses primarily on Business Law transactions. Ms. Guo hopes to gain a deeper understanding of different legal concepts while studying at the University of Minnesota Law School. She plans to return to China and continue work as an attorney.

Ms. Han holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Bejing Foreign Studies University School of Law which she received in 2015. While working on her degree Ms. Han participated in The Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition and the BFSU-WANHUIDA CUP IP International Moot Court Competition. Ms. Han also served as a legal intern for both Shanxi Allan Law Firm and Clifford Chance, LLP. While pursuing her LL.M. degree, Ms. Han is excited to further her knowledge in international and corporate law. She hopes to one day find a career as a successful global lawyer.

Mr. He graduated from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Law. During his studies he served as a volunteer for the Rural Development Study Association and as the secretary of propaganda for the Department of Law Association. Most recently, Mr. He has been working as an apprentice attorney for the Shanxi Tonghui Law Firm where he focuses on pretrial preparation and litigation. Mr. He is interested in gaining more knowledge in civil law, international commercial law, and maritime law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. He hopes to return to China and pursue a career as an international lawyer.

Ms. Chengwei Huang earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Shanghai University in 2015. During her studies she was a member of Lvzhou Legal Aid Society and served as the director for the Publicity Department of the law school. Since 2014, Ms. Chengwei Huang has been working as a paralegal for Shanghai Hugang Law Firm where she engaged in pro bono representation and served as a clerk for felony arraignments, misdemeanor trials and preliminary hearings. Ms. Chengwei Huang hopes to further her education on the differences between America and civil law countries while at the University of Minnesota. She would then like to return to China and continue to pursue her legal career.

Ms. Huan Huang attended Southwest Petroleum University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Law. While earning her degree Ms. Huan Huang completed research on the property rights of parents who purchase homes for their children. She also worked as a student intern for Yugong Community where she participated in civil mediation and legal publicity. Most recently, Ms. Huan Huang has been working as a lawyer for Chuanda Law Firm. Ms. Huan Huang would like to focus her studies on human rights law and criminal law while earning her LL.M. degree. After graduating she hopes to find work as a public interest lawyer.

Mr. Jingwei Huang holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which he received from Jinan University in 2014. While at Jinan University Mr. Jingwei Huang completed internships at the Dongguan Intermediate People’s Court and the Quangang District People’s Court where he helped draft court documents and enforce judicial decisions. Since graduation, Mr. Jingwei Huang has worked as a lawyer’s assistant at Guangdong Great Brothers Law Firm where he gained experience in corporate and transactional law. While pursuing his LL.M. degree, Mr. Jingwei Huang hopes to deepen his understanding of the common law system. He would then like to return to China and one day establish his own law firm.
South Korea
Dr. Jang holds a Ph.D in Commercial Law from Kyunghee University in 2009 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Law from Chungbuk National University and master’s degree from Kyunghee University. Since 2005, he has represented Korea National Pension Service (KNPS) in litigations as an accredited representative. He led KNPS in legally discussing, drafting, and documenting social security policies as well as its investment in capital markets. He has been also a member of the advisory committee of the Korea National Pension Research Institute and is listed as one of the rising researchers in pension fund investment field by the government and the National Assembly in South. Dr. Jang hopes to gain insight into institutional investor’s alternative investment policy in U.S. legal system during his studies in Minnesota. After graduation, he would like to contribute to restructuring of the KNPS’s fund governance.

Ms. Jie earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2015. During her studies she was an active member of the Mock Trial Program and the Introduction to American Legal System Program. Ms. Jie also worked as an assistant lawyer for Dacheng Law Offices and the Hubei Superior People’s Court. Ms. Jie is excited to study civil law and commercial law while pursuing her LL.M. degree. After graduation, she hopes to find work at a U.S. law firm to gain real world experience of the American legal system.
Colombia
Mr. Jimenez attended Universidad Externado de Colombia where he earned a bachelor’s degree in law in 2014. Since 2013 he has been working for an insurance company in Colombia, where he has developed a successful career as a lawyer. In 2015 due to the good results obtained he was promoted to senior lawyer in this company. He has always been interested in the legal systems of foreign countries, that is why last year he took a course in legal English at the University of Cambridge (UK). Mr. Jimenez would like to deepen his understanding of business law in an international context at the University of Minnesota. After graduation, he hopes to return to Colombia to continue working with business and insurance law and he wants to advise entrepreneurs in their business ideas, to contribute to the economic development of his country.

Ms. Jin received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Chongqing University in 2015. While earning her degree, Ms. Jin worked as an intern for the Intermediate People’s Court of Chongqing and volunteered as a teacher in Leprosy Village. After graduation, Ms. Jin went on to serve as the Chief Judge in Simulated Court Activity where she monitors and provides judgment for simulated Court proceedings. Ms. Jin hopes to gain further insight into Commercial Law during her time in America. She then hopes to return to China and pursue work as an attorney for a multi-national company.
India
Ms. Kaur attended Amity Law School where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2012. During her studies she served as an Intern for Lex Orbis, Kochhar & Co., and Anand and Anand. After graduating, Ms. Kaur went on to become an Associate for the trademarks and corporate department in Anand and Anand where she focused on intellectual property law. Most recently, Ms. Kaur has been working as an Associate for Lall Lahiri & Salhorta in their trademark opposition department. Ms. Kaur is excited to be exposed to a variety of legal topics while at the University of Minnesota. She hopes to use her experience to continue work in intellectual property law.
Thailand
Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Chulalongkorn University in 2010 where she focused on international law. During her studies Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon served as a volunteer advisor for the Campaign to Aid the Local People on Disputed Land Ownership and as a volunteer planner for the Campaign to Improve the Livelihood of the Blind through Legal Support and Protection. Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon also worked as a sales representative and coordinator for Thai Fujimori Trading Company Limited. After graduating, Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon worked as a teller for Bangkok’s Government Savings Bank. Most recently, Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon has been working as a loan officer for the Government Savings Bank. Ms. Khemkhangpreechanon would like to focus on banking and finance law while in the United States. She hopes to return to Thailand and pursue work in Thailand’s public sector.
South Korea
Ms. Hangahee Kim received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Korea University in 2011. She then went on to earn her juris doctorate in Law from Ewha Womans University in 2014. While at Ewha Womans University, Ms. Hangahee Kim served as the assistant editor for the Student Editorial Board and the president for the Risk & Management Law Research Association. Since graduating, Ms. Hangahee Kim had been working as a legal advisor for Solon Law Firm and as a reporter on copyright in Japan for the Korean Copyright Commission. Ms. Hangahee Kim is excited to take courses in business law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. She hopes to one day return to Solon Law Firm and work as a successful international lawyer.
South Korea
Mr. Tae Young Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Kyung Hee University which he received in 2009. While working on his certification, Mr. Tae Young Kim volunteered for Kyung Hee Campus Open Church and for the Northern Seoul Youth Dream Support Center in the crime prevention policy bureau of the Department of Justice. Mr. Tae Young Kim also worked as the publishing internship editor for Korea Law Culture Institute and as the secretary for Koabels American Law Research Institute. While earning his LL.M. degree, Mr. Kim would like to expand his education on constitutional law and human rights law. He hopes to return to Korea and pursue a career as an international human rights lawyer.
Taiwan
Mr. Wei-Ting Lee received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Taipei University in 2004. He then went on to earn a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Ph.D. in Development Studies from National Cheng-Chi University. While working on his Ph.D. Mr. Wei-Ting Lee served as an assistant research fellow for the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research where he focused on issues relating to bilateral and multilateral trade and OECD trade policy principles. While in Minnesota, Mr. Wei-Ting Lee is excited to become more familiar with the U.S. legal system. After graduating, he hopes to establish a successful career as an international lawyer and become actively involved with international and non-governmental organizations.

Mr. Li attended China University of Political Science and Law where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2015. During his studies Mr. Li volunteered as the publicity secretary for the Youth League Committee of CCE and as the minister of the Student Subsistence Department. Mr. Li also served as an intern for the People’s Court in Chaoyang District and Mashou Law Firm. Mr. Li would like to expand his knowledge on U.S. and international law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. He is also eager to get involved with various student and community organizations. Following graduation, Mr. Li hopes to become a successful international private law attorney.

Ms. Liang holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law which she received in 2015. While working on her degree, Ms. Liang focused her research on protecting women workers and the improvement of juvenile community correction. Ms. Liang also interned for the Hubei Provincial Higher Court and Yicheng Procuratorate. Most recently, Ms. Liang has been working pro bono as a registered volunteer in her local law aid center. Ms. Liang plans to focus on commercial law while working on her LL.M. degree. She hopes to one day return to China and work as a judge.
South Korea
Mr. Lim earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Vietnam National University in 2013. During his studies, Mr. Lim served as an intern for JP Law Firm and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. Mr. Lim also served as an interpreter for the Embassy of Korea, Hanwha Corporation, and the Korean NGO Group. Mr. Lim is looking to gain further insight in the areas of intellectual property, information, and communications law. After earning his LL.M. degree, Mr. Lim hopes to become a successful intellectual property lawyer.
China
Ms. Liu received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2005 from Northwest University of Politics and Law. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Law in 2009. While earning her master’s degree Ms. Liu focused her research on the British Lawyers’ System and The Equality of Procurator and Defense in China. After her studies, Ms. Liu worked as a professional lawyer for Shannxi Fairlaw Office and Dacheng Dentons Law Offices. Most recently, Ms. Liu has been working as a senior partner and professional lawyer at Haibu Attorneys-at-Law where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Liu is excited to expand her knowledge on U.S. and international law while in Minnesota. Upon graduation, she plans to return to China and continue working at Haibu Attorneys-at-Law.

Ms. Ma holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Huazhong University of Science and Technology which she received in 2015. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2015. During her studies, Ms. Ma served as an intern for the Zigui County People’s Court and the Zigui County People’s Procuratorate. She also participated as a member of the HUST Law Association and the Student Association of Youth League Committee. Ms. Ma is excited to expand her knowledge of business law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. She then hopes to return to China and find work at business law firm.
India
Ms. Mohan earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from School of Law Christ University in 2013. During her studies Ms. Mohan worked as a researcher for Tata Global Beverages Limited, AZB & Partners, M.V. Kini & Co. Advocates & Solicitors, Dua Associates and ICICI Bank Limited. Since earning her degree, Ms. Mohan has worked as an attorney for Titan Company Limited where she had gained experience in corporate and transactional law. Ms. Mohan plans to focus her studies on business law while earning her LL.M. degree. After graduating, she plans to pursue a career as a successful corporate attorney.
Norway
Ms. Netteland is an exchange student from the University of Bergen in Norway. During her studies, Ms. Netteland has been a tutor for the University of Bergen and has held an internship at Arntzen de Besche Law Firm. She has also been an active member of her Law School´s handball team. Ms. Netteland is excited to study human rights and American Law during her year abroad. She hopes to return to Norway with a better understanding of how legal issues are solved in an international setting.
China
Ms. Ni received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Tianjin University in 2015. While completing her degree Ms. Ni served as a lawyer’s assistant for Tianjin Huayong Law Office and as a judge’s assistant for Tianjin First Intermediate People’s Court. Ms. Ni also participated in a summer exchange program in Atlanta, Georgia, where she took a course in American Literature and Academic Response Writing. Ms. Ni will focus on international intellectual property law and globalization while in Minnesota. After completing her LL.M. she would like to remain in the United States and find work as a legal advisor.
Norway
Ms. Nordhus is an exchange student from the University of Bergen in Norway. While working on her degree, Ms. Nordhus has served as an intern for DLA Piper and Steenstrup Stordrange. She also works as a tutor for The University of Bergen. Ms. Linn would like to become more familiar with the differences between common law and civil law while at the University of Minnesota. She hopes her LL.M. degree and experience in the United States will help her establish a successful legal career in Norway.
Norway
Ms. Paulsen is an exchange student from the University of Bergen in Norway. She has been working as a tutor and research assistant for the law school during her studies. She also spent time as the Executive Officer of the Norwegian Mapping Authority Legal Unit and as a Trainee for Hjort Law Firm. Ms. Paulsen is excited to explore human rights and international law while in Minnesota. Upon completing her studies at the University of Minnesota and the University of Bergen she plans to pursue a career practicing international human rights law.

Ms. Peng holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Shanghai International Studies University and a bachelor’s degree in Law from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. After completing her degrees, Ms. Peng worked as an Associate for Xiong & He Law Firm. Most recently, Ms. Peng has been working in the Legal department of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China where she serves as a consultant. Ms. Peng would like to further her understanding of international and business law while at the University of Minnesota. After earning her LL.M. she would like to find success as an international business attorney.
Brazil
Ms. Carvalho earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2009. During her studies, Ms. Carvalho interned for Brazil’s Special Criminal Court and Hoeper & Campos Law Firm. After graduating, she worked as a criminal defense attorney for Hoeper & Campos Law. Later she gained experience with civil litigation and contracts working at Vitola & Estoup Law firm. Before joining our program, she completed her specialization in Real Estate Law, Contracts, and Civil Responsibility at Institute of Cultural Development in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She hopes to one day work with international contracts in a multinational company in order to establish more efficient social assistance programs.
Russia
Ms. Prokhorova is a Fulbright Scholar. She holds a degree in Economy and Enterprise Management from Volgograd State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in 2007. During this time Ms. Prokhorova also earned a degree in Jurisprudence from Volgograd Academy of Russian Internal Affairs Ministry. Since earning her degrees, Ms. Prokhorova has served as a paralegal and attorney advocate for Volgograd Union Bar Association. Ms. Prokhorova also participated as a teaching fellow at Volgograd State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Most recently, Ms. Prokhorova has been working as an attorney advocate for Prokhorova and Partners. Ms. Prokhorova would like to focus her studies on the U.S. juvenile legal system while at the University of Minnesota Law School in the hopes of one day helping with the establishment of a separate juvenile legal system in Russia.
Indonesia
Ms. Putri received a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Indonesia in 2011 where she focused her studies on international law. Since graduating, Ms. Putri has been working as a senior associate for Ariyanto Arnaldo Law where she focuses on both criminal and civil litigation matters. Ms. Putri is also experienced in settlement mediation and negotiations. Ms. Putri plans to focus on human rights law while in the United States. After earning her LL.M. degree she plans to return to Indonesia and continue working as a litigation lawyer.
China
Ms. Qiu holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she earned from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2009. During her studies, Ms. Qiu was the chairman of ZUEL Debate Association and the captain of the ZUEL Debate Team. After earning her degree, Ms. Qiu went on the work as a legal supervisor for Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited. Most recently, she has been in charge of legal affairs of Unicom Innovation Venture Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd in Shanghai. Ms. Qiu is excited to study international business law while in Minnesota. She hopes to one day establish a career working with overseas venture capital institutions.
China
Ms. Qu received a bachelor’s degree in Arts from Handing Normal University in 1991. She then went on to earn a bachelor’s of Law and master’s degree in Civil Law from Tsinghua University. Most recently, Ms. Qu earned a Ph.D. of Economic Law from East China University of Political Science and Law in 2009. While earning her Ph.D. degree Ms. Qu served as a part-time lawyer for Shandong Deyijunda Law Firm where she focused on corporate finance law. Currently, Ms. Qu is a professor and graduate tutor at Shandong University Law School. Ms. Qu would like to gain a better understanding of the American legal system while earning her LL.M. degree. After earning her degree, she plans to return to Shandong University Law School as a professor.
Netherlands
Mr. Strijdhaftig is an exchange student from Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He received a bachelor’s degree in International and European Law from Tilburg University in 2013. Since earning his degree, Mr. Strijdhaftig has been working on his master’s degree in Law focusing on private and criminal law. While working on his master’s degree, Mr. Strijdhaftig has worked as the PR manager for the law school’s Student Giving Committee and as an ambassador for Dance4Life. Mr. Strijdhaftig is excited to study the American legal system while studying in Minnesota. He hopes to one day become a successful jurist in the Netherlands.
Thailand
Ms. Suriyaket holds a bachelor’s degree in Law which she received from Thammasat University in 2012. During her studies Ms. Suriyaket served as the treasurer of the Law Students Association. After receiving her degree, Ms. Suriyaket earned her Thai Lawyer’s License and completed Ethics and Courtesy Training for the Legal Professions. Most recently, Ms. Suriyaket earned a master’s degree in Law from SMU Dedman School of Law. Ms. Suriyaket is excited to become immersed in American culture while at the University of Minnesota. After completing her LL.M. degree, she hopes to use her experience with the U.S. Legal System to become a successful judge in Thailand.
Thailand
Mr. Tepma received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Thammasat University in 2012. During his studies Mr. Tepma was an active participant in the Asian Law Student Club, the TU Board Game Club, and Moot court. Mr. Tepma also interned at Kiatnakin Bank and KPMG Thailand while completing his degree. Most recently, Mr. Tepma has been working as a legal officer for the Department of Corrections in the Legal Affairs Division. Mr. Tepma is excited to further his research abilities while at the University of Minnesota Law School. He hopes to return to Thailand and help improve the current law enforcement system.
Thailand
Mr. Karn Tintani holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Ramkhamhaeng University which he received in 2015. While working on his degree, Mr. Karn Tintani worked as an intern at Wan Chai Law Firm where he gained experience in trademark and intellectual property law. Mr. Karn Tintani also has memberships with the Thai Bar Association and the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Mr. Karn Tintani plans to focus on international trade and intellectual property law while in Minnesota. He hopes to one day become an intellectual property judge or a law professor.

Mr. Korn Tintani earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Kasetsart University in 2011. Since earning his degree Mr. Korn Tintani has been working as a lawyer for Wanchaisornsiri Law Firm where he gained experience in intellectual property and civil law. Mr. Korn Tintani also has memberships with the Thai Bar Association and the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Mr. Korn Tintani is excited to expand his knowledge of intellectual property and business law while at the University of Minnesota. He hopes to bring his experience back to Thailand and one day open up his own law firm and serve as a member of Thailand’s parliament.

Mr. Wei Wang attended Fuzhou University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2015. While completing his degree, Mr. Wei Wang worked as a judge’s assistant for Xiamen Municipal Intermediate People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Court of Fujian Province. Mr. Wei Wang also interned as a legal assistant for Xiamen Dadao Law Firm. He hopes to learn more about international law and the American legal system while pursuing his LL.M. degree. After graduating, he would like to return to China and establish a successful career in an international law firm.

Ms. Yiming Wang holds bachelor’s degrees in Law and Biology which she received in 2008 from Wuhan University Law School. Ms. Yiming Wang would like to further her knowledge of international business law while in Minnesota. She hopes to one day become a senior partner at a leading law firm in China or establish her own practice.

Mr. Wu received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Wuhan University in 2013. While completing his degree, Mr. Wu served as an intern for the Anti-Corruption Bureau of People’s Procuratorate of Hanyang District and for the Criminal Division of Xiantao Municipal People’s Court. Since completing his degree, Mr. Wu has been working as a paralegal for Xiantao City Longtian Law Offices. Mr. Wu would like to focus his studies on business law and the common law system. Mr. Wu hopes to return to China after earning his degree and become an accomplished public interest lawyer.

Ms. Xu holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law which she earned in 2013. While completing her degree she worked as an intern for General Electric, TenWow Group, and Shanghai Haibo Co. Ms. Xu also worked as a legal volunteer for the Legal Aid Center of SHUPL. Since graduation, Ms. Xu has been working as a lawyer for Shanghai AllBright Law Office where she focuses on dispute resolution and corporate affairs. Ms. Xu hopes to become more proficient in the U.S. legal system while in Minnesota. She hopes to use her LL.M. degree to pursue a successful legal career in China.
Saudi Arabia
Ms. Yousef earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from King Abdul Aziz University in 2010. After graduation Ms. Yousef became a trainee for the National Commercial Bank’s legal department where she gained experience in legal consulting for the bank’s operations. Most recently, Ms. Yousef has been working as the senior customer services representative at National Commercial Bank where she deals with service and communications issues as well as client contracts. Ms. Yousef looks forward to studying business law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. After earning her LL.M. degree, she hopes to pursue a Ph.D. with a focus on business law.

Ms. Yuan received a bachelor’s degree in Law from East China University of Political Science and Law in 2013. She then went on to earn a master’s degree in Law from East China University of Science and Technology in 2015. While completing her degrees, Ms. Yuan worked as a legal assistant for Bai Shui He Law Firm. She also interned for Shanghai Jingxiang Industry and Commerce Co. and served as the Chinese representative for Ohio State University. Ms. Yuan would like to focus her studies on business and trade law while earning her LL.M. degree. She hopes to return to China and practice international business law.
Germany
Mr. Zacharias is an exchange student from Tilburg University in the Netherlands where he is working on a master’s degree in International and European Law. Before attending Tilburg University, Mr. Zacharias earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, specializing in Economics and Law, from the Global Studies Institute in Geneva (Switzerland). Mr. Zacharias is looking to become more educated on international law, technology law and the American legal system while at the University of Minnesota Law School.

Mr. Keke Zhang received a bachelor’s degree in Public Service Management from Nanjing Medical University in 2012. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Law from Nanjing Normal University in 2014. While working on his Law degree, Mr. Keke Zhang interned at Tongzhou District Hospital and the Nanjing Intermediate Court. He also volunteered at Nanjing BenQ hospital. Mr. Keke Zhang is excited to continue his legal education in the United States. After earning his LL.M. degree, he plans to return to China and work as an attorney.

Mr. Shaowei Zhang attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2008. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in International Economic Law in 2011. While completing his master’s degree, Mr. Shaowei Zhang worked as a legal consultant for Nixon Peabody LLP. After graduation, he began working as a legal consultant for Faegre Baker Daniels, LLP where he has gained experience in international corporate and transactional law. Mr. Shaowei Zhang would like to enhance his business and commercial legal skills while earning his LL.M. degree. He then plans to return to his position with Faegre Baker Daniels.

Mr. Shou Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from East China University of Political Science and Law which he earned in 2015. While completing his degree, Mr. Shou Zhang worked as a legal consultant for Kinji Green Town Blue Flower Art Center. Mr. Shou Zhang also interned for the Shanghai Songjiang District People’s Court and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. Mr. Shou Zhang hopes to focus on international law while at the University of Minnesota Law School. After graduating, he plans to return to China and begin his legal career.

Ms. Wanxin Zhang attended Hefei University of Technology where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Law in 2015. While completing her degree, Ms. Wanxin Zhang participated as an exchange student at Providence University in Taiwan. Ms. Wanxin Zhang also worked as a trainee for the Xinyang Intermediate People’s Court and as a legal assistant for Xinyang Wenying Law Firm. Ms. Wanxin Zhang hopes develop a thorough understanding of various areas of law while earning her LL.M. degree. She plans to return to China and use her experience in America to become a successful legal practitioner.

Mr. Zheng received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Huaqiao University Law School in 2006. Mr. Zheng then went on to earn a master’s degree in Law in 2013. While earning his master’s degree, Mr. Zheng worked as an intern for the Jinjiang City Administrative Enforcement Bureau. Currently, he is working as the law enforcement vice-captain for the Jinjiang City Administrative Enforcement Bureau. Mr. Zheng plans to study the differences between American and Chinese privacy and business laws while at the University of Minnesota. He then plans to return to China establish a career in privacy law.

Mr. Zhou earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from South-Central University for Nationalities in 2009. After graduating, Mr. Zhou worked as a court clerk for the City Court of Fuzhou. Most recently, he has been working as a legal assistant for Jiangxi QinFen Law Firm where he has gained experience in business and transactional law. Mr. Zhou is excited to focus on intellectual property law while earning his LL.M. degree. He hopes to work for a U.S. law firm before returning to China to work as a business and intellectual property lawyer.
Germany
Mr. Zielke is an exchange student from Humboldt University in Germany where he has been focusing on international and European law. Mr. Zielke is excited to explore the seminars at the University of Minnesota Law School. In particular, Mr. Zielke is hoping to become more educated in intellectual property law and international joint ventures. After earning his LL.M., Mr. Zielke will return to Humboldt University and finish his degree.
