Nichole L. Burgess '99
Nichole L. Burgess earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She worked for a State Senator in Wisconsin for three years before returning to Minnesota, earning her J.D. in 1999 from the University of Minnesota Law School. Upon graduation, Burgess began working at the Region 18 office of the National Labor Relations Board. She began her career as a field attorney where she handled representation matters and investigated and litigated numerous unfair labor practices cases in front of ALJs. She also argued for and secured injunctive relief in federal district court on several occasions.
In June 2012, Burgess became a Supervisory Attorney, responsible for supervising a team of agents and overseeing case handling, litigation, and district court actions. In October 2017, Burgess was promoted to Regional Attorney, responsible for overseeing all the legal work in the Region including strategizing, coordinating, and managing litigation and settlements. As Regional Attorney, she continues to supervise and train attorneys and field examiners in the investigation and litigation of unfair labor practice cases.
