Prof. Richard Painter Cited in Newsweek About Judge’s Delays in Trump Documents Trial

Prof. Richard Painter’s comments on X about the possible reasons why Judge Aileen Cannon continues to delay Donald Trump’s classified documents trial were cited in Newsweek. Prof. Painter said her delays are an attempt to win a place on the U.S. Supreme Court should Trump win the election. He wrote, “Judge Cannon sure looks like she’s auditioning for the next open seat on the Supreme Court if Trump wins the election. As Norm Eisen, Fred Wertheimer and I have pointed out before, she shouldn’t be trying this case.”
